My Software

I write tons of programs for my own amusement.  Sometimes I go through the trouble of sharing them with others.  In an attempt to do a better job of sharing my software, I am starting to go through all my code, slap an open-source license on  it, and post it somewhere on the web.  This page will serve as a jumping off point to those projects.

Chordshop www.chordshop.com Chordshop produces high quality PDF chord sheets and songbooks. It uses the general ChordPro format and adds some extensions of its own. These extensions allow for advanced features like the support of measures, on-the-fly transposition, and dual chord lines to show capoed chords along with the actual chords. It also provides a handy GUI to aid in the editing of ChordPro files and the creation of chord diagrams. The chord explorer is especially useful for learning fingerings/voicings of obscure chords.
FretCalculator code.google.com/p/fretcalculator This a simple program to calculate fret locations for fretted instruments. You just input the scale length and number of frets and off you go. Output can be in decimals or fractions.
LilyComp lilycomp.sourceforge.net LilyComp is a graphical note entry program for use with the LilyPond music typesetting program. This program was written to speed up the creation of lead sheets. It just enters notes and rests with the indicated duration. Think of LilyComp as the number pad on your keyboard; it is just for quick data entry.
